For a lot of Pagans, the Wheel of the Year has turned, and now we're at Samhain, which means 'Summer's End.' It's that time when people reflect on what they've symbolically planted in their lives and start reaping the benefits. This period is known for major energetic shifts because the veil between worlds is at its thinnest.
So, like everyone else, life just does its thing, right? There's always a ton of stuff to do, unexpected chaos, and feeling drained from trying to handle it all. You know what I mean—life gets messy, and you end up feeling unproductive and totally wiped out! I've definitely had my share of mishaps, chaos, and those days where I just don't want to deal with anything. It's a normal reaction to life's little messes and chaos. But what's the takeaway here? What's the 'medicine' we're offered that we might not always want to take?
What if I said the lesson here is to just take a breather? Samhain is all about taking stock and figuring out your priorities. No matter what life throws your way, especially when it's unexpected, it's important to focus on what matters. If something needs your attention and you want to give it that attention, you'll find a way to make room for it. Now's the perfect time to do just that! Focus on yourself and your life, including planning for the next year, since Samhain is like the New Year for many Pagans. So, really, this is the time to prioritize what's truly important to you.
When Samhain rolls around, I totally feel the energy shift. Sometimes it's a big change, other times it's just a little nudge, but there's always something different in the air. My usual hectic pace slows down, and I find myself kicking back and relaxing for a few months.
There's this cool flow that happens when the veil between worlds gets thinner. Everything—seen and unseen, alive and not—just blends smoothly, as long as we're ready for it.
Samhain is all about transitions, moving from Summer to Winter, and it's a time to let go and make room for new beginnings in Spring. It's a great chance to reflect on what the past year has taught us and let go of what's no longer helpful. Once we do that, we can start fresh and set new goals for the future. Even when things get wild or chaotic, embracing this season's lessons helps us grow. Making time for this is super important.
Samhain reminds us of our connection to the universe and shows us the power of embracing the darker part of the year. It's a time to chill out and dive into some deep self-reflection.
Like I said, life can get crazy, and we all feel worn out sometimes. But by watching the seasons change and the Wheel turn, we can take a breather and think about our lives. It's not just about planning; it's also about celebrating past successes and honoring our ancestors.
This Samhain, I'm keeping things simple. Life's been a bit chaotic, so I'm going to spend three days recharging, honoring myself and my ancestors, and celebrating last year's wins. Then, once I'm re-energized, I'll sit down with my journal to figure out what I need to let go of this winter. I'm also going to list at least five goals for next year—clearing my energy and getting ready to plant seeds for a brighter future.
Wishing you all many blessings this Samhain season!
Remember, you're amazing and deserve the best! Keep pushing forward—you've got this!
